POST TWO
The Egyptian myth about Orsis and Isis, telling how Orsis became the lord of the underworld follows many of the aspects in the hero's journey. In this story the hero is actually the goddess Isis. She goes through the well defined path of departure, trials and victories and the return. Since she is a god some of the parts are left out seeing that she is envisioned as being more than just human and being all knowing and powerful.
The story begins when Geb and Nut had four children Isis, Orsis, Nephthys and Seth. The world was in chaos and Orsis and Isis were sent by the Geb to put the world back to order. Orsis taught the people how to use agriculture and animal farming. While Orsis and Isis sat upon the thorn Maat was all in order, this was considered the golden age. All was perfect except for the hate in Seth's heart. Seth longed for everything his brother had, he wanted the power and for the people to love him. He even wanted Isis to be his queen even though he was already married to his sister Nephthys.
